Family Friendly Hawaii

Whale Watching Up Close

One of the most popular activities for the family in Hawaii is humpback whale watching. You will get to see the whales with your entire family, simply by boarding a boat and going out to sea. All boats must stay around 100 metres away from the whales for their protection and yours.

This family activity is particularly worthwhile, since the humpback whale is on the endangered species list. The whale watching peak season is generally between January and the beginning of April.

Hiking Hawaii’s Mighty Volcanoes

If your family is interested in seeing mother nature in action, then you must take your family to one of the volcanoes in Hawaii. Maunaloa, Kilauea and Loihi are three of Hawaii’s most well known, with the former two located on Hawaii’s largest island while the latter is underwater off the Southern Coast.

Other popular volcanoes in Hawaii include Leahi and Haleakala in Maui and Oahu respectively, and the National Memorial of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Your family can take a guided tour to hike these volcanoes and see the craters as well as the surrounding natural beauty.

You can’t go to Hawaii with the family without spending at least one day out on one of its spectacular beaches. There are loads of beach settings where you can sit on white, green, black or red sanded beaches, have a picnic at one of the beach parks or watch whales from the shore.

Here is a list of some of the must see beaches in Hawaii:

Other Things To Do In Hawaii

If your family still needs more to do, don’t worry – you can take the kids to play golf on one of the famous courses with breathtaking beach views, or learn to shake your hips with hula dancing lessons.

Many people love hiking the Waimea Canyon on Kauai Island and viewing the Hulopoe Bay on Lanai Island. Your family may also love to see the Bishop Museum on Oahu Island or one of the many other museums or historic sites that Hawaii has to offer.

Overall, Hawaii is a lovely destination to bring your family to and you will see many unforgettably different landscapes and experience amazingly unique tours.

You will have plenty of time to play and rest on the sparkling clean Hawaiian beaches and the people of Hawaii will open their hearts and culture to the families that come to visit them.
